Please see additional information on Program and Qualifications below;
As per previous advices the nominations for Zones Championships is now open via your resultshq family login however the parent volunteer roster is not being processed via resultshq this year, it is via an external website:
Once you have done your event nominations via resultshq please proceed to the roster website to select your rosters. Please note that the expectation is 1 roster per athlete registered for zones, so if you have multiple athletes attending the event you will need to select the multiple rosters.
It is a very simple process to nominate for a roster:
Click on the ‘Hide/Show Nominated Rosters’ button and you will be able to display only the rosters that still need to be filled. Please select the roster you wish to complete (all rosters except key official roles have been allocated to a particular Centre so please do not choose a roster for 1 of the other Centres)
Click on the ‘Volunteer’ button and in the next prompt, enter your name and your mobile number. Only your name will be displayed, your number is in the background to contact you if required.
The roster includes number of Chief Official positions – if you have been a key official at Ridgewood competition please consider taking 1 of these positions. We need these filled to ensure competition for these events can go ahead with an experienced judge.
There are a multitude of options available most of which that do not require any previous experience and training will be provided where necessary on the day. If you have any special requirements or difficulties, please contact the Centre for advice on which roster would be suitable.
On behalf of all athletes, we thank you kindly for your cooperation.
If you make an error, please email email@example.com and ask for the correction that is to occur.
Zones Qualification & U7-8 State Championships
Congratulations on nominating your little athlete for Zones Championships.
Please note the venue is HBF Arena Joondalup (Joondalup LAC home venue) on 17 & 18 February.
The program of events is available at the following website: Zones Program 2018 and there is more information on the LAWA website: LAWA and the Centre website: http://ridgewoodlac.org/. Also, check the Facebook page where regular updates are available and information is published. Please continue to check the Little Athletics WA website, as there may be changes prior to the weekend.
The program will run from 8:15am to 5:15pm on both days, the events are reversed on the second day for the gender, for instance, the boys do their 100m and long jump on Saturday and the girls do these on Sunday.
A list of Ridgewood athletes registered with events nominated is here: https://1drv.ms/x/s!As7ciaH_NSXz81gqk-csLzjWFFoV Please double check this list against your nominations to ensure there are no errors. Please bring a copy of your confirmation email from Timing Solutions with you to zones in the event that there is an error in nominations.
Please ensure you check this so that your child is ready to participate when required. Please note that athletes need to report to the Call Room 20 minutes before track events and 35 minutes before field events. Athletes will be marked off when they get there and will be taken to site by a chaperone. There may be clashes between events, a clash officer will take athletes from one site to the other and bring them back to the original site if required.
For most track events heats and finals will be run as at Centre Championships.
U7 and U8 athletes will be awarded Gold, Silver and Bronze medals at Zones Championships and will not proceed to the State Championships.
Competitors in the U9 to U15 age groups must have a performance recorded during the Zone Championships to progress through to State Championships. The number of athletes qualifying in each event at Zones Championships to progress through to State Championships is determined by the LAWA Board, having regard to the total registrations in the Zone and has been announced as the following from our zone (Zone 4):
70m, 100, 200m, 400m, Short Hurdles, Shot Put, Long Jump, Triple Jump – 5 athletes
200/300m Hurdles, 800m, 1500m, Walks, Discus, Javelin, High Jump – 4 athletes
The program for State Championships is different from Zone Championships. Community Nitro Event 2017 U14-U17
A Special Community Nitro Event for U14 – U17 athletes will be taking place on Saturday evening 4th November at HBF Arena, Joondalup between Joondalup / Hamersley / Ridgewood / UWA – starting at 5pm until 8.30pm.
This is a fun event between all the Centres in a social environment, as detailed in the flyer attached.
The Centre selection process will be to firstly encouraging all U14-U17 athletes to “opt in” for the event and nominate three (3) preferred events in order of preference from the event program by the deadline date of Saturday 21st October.
The Ridgewood LAC Event sub-committee will then be nominating / placing athletes (no more than two events per person) for each of the events according to season results, if more than two athletes nominate for a particular event / age group then the Sub-committee will make a decision based on team balanced / fun / filling all positions.
U13 were included as a one-off event (standard relay) to entice them to attend the event as the centre’s cheer squads & give them a taste for next year being involved.
All nominations for the Community Nitro Event are to be done at the Healthways tent at Ridgewood Oval by close of competition on Saturday 21 October. We will have a sheet at the tent tomorrow and next Saturday for athletes to nominate their preferences for events.
Look forward to seeing all the RLAC senior athletes enjoying this special event.
